The game of Poker has been defined as 'a game of five cards'. Although many of you have probably played different variations of Poker, they all have the same underlying principle of being a game requiring a five-card hand (in one way or another).
In all, there are 2,598,960 combinations of five-card hands possible in the standard 52-card deck. The more rare your combination of five cards, the higher the ranking and hence the more valuable.
Texas Hold'em (usually just called Hold'em) is the variation of poker we play in the majority of our tournaments. Hold'em can be played with only two players or, theoretically, with as many as twenty-two players. However it is rarely played with more than twelve players due to the size of the table.
